Coming Fall 2024

Fall Mental Health Hiking Group

The Fall Mental Health Hiking Group will explore the gifts and the challenges of the transition to the fall season. Fall brings abundant activity and at the same time it is a season of "letting go". We will learn from nature and explore the tensions of the season through hiking coupled with meaningful connection to one's self and to others. Each hike will provide a respite from the feeling of always being ‘switched-on’, helping to decrease symptoms related to anxiety and depression. Participants will develop skills related to mindfulness, self-compassion, and distress tolerance. The location is in Rock Creek Park (DC side).

Outside With Grief - A One-Day Retreat

Nature has the capacity to hold our grief. Join others in going outside with your grief for a One-Day Immersive Retreat and be nurtured by nature. We will spend the day hiking, engaging in mindfulness practices, developing nature-based coping skills, and most significantly, connecting with grief that is felt deeply inside. The retreat is most appropriate for individuals who are at least three months post-loss. The location is near the Nature Center in Rock Creek Park.
