Group Therapy

I am extremely passionate about group therapy. I believe that it is through groups that clients discover they are not alone with their thoughts, feelings and experiences and can explore themselves more fully, resulting in growth and healing. According to Irvin Yalom, "Group therapy is unique in being the only therapy that offers clients the opportunity to be of benefit to others." It is a delight for me to watch the interplay among group members and help create a space that fosters this type of mutual helping. My groups are psychodynamic in nature, experiential and I would venture to say, fun. Group therapy may be covered by your insurance provider so consider inquiring and note that I am an out-of-network provider.

"New Normal" Parent/Sibling Loss Group + Yoga (10 Weeks): starts TBD

Groups are small in size and are closed once a group has started, which helps provide a safe space to process the many mixed emotions that surface with grief. Participants take part in a 10 week curriculum featuring interactive exercises, utilizing a holistic and multi-sensory approach. The overarching goal is to help participants find a “new normal” and further integrate their loss into their life. Following a 75-minute group therapy session, a 45-minute yoga component which helps to provide some mind-body connection with the therapeutic work.
